Cousins Award Overview
What is the Cousins Awards for Young Scientists and Professionals?
Newly established by former ICRP Chair Dr Claire Cousins, this award recognises the best presentation by a young scientist or professional at an ICRP International Symposium on the System of Radiological Protection. Eligibility is restricted to those within 5 years of having been awarded a postgraduate degree.
If you are eligible, please mention this when you submit your abstract. Up to 4 finalists will have an opportunity to make a presentation at a dedicated live session. A panel of international experts will select the awardee based on the quality of their work and its presentation at the Symposium.

Luana Hafner of Switzerland received the first-ever Cousins Award at ICRP 2021+1 for her presentation on “The impact of Different Neutron RBEs on the all Solid Cancer Radiation Incidence Risks Obtained from the Japanese A-bomb Survivors Data“.
